Project Management

A web site project should be a simple thing…. but we hear lots of stories how our clients have had bad experiences where the project has dragged on past the original time frames and blown well out of budget.

We have 8 years experience in IT Project Management, and 5 years specifically in the Web Industry.

There are three main elements to a Project, and each of them are related.

  1. Time
  2. Quality
  3. Budget

You can get a cheap, bad website fast. No problems! You can not get a cheap, awesome website fast. Great things take time, and the time for us is directly related to the budget.

We run the project in a flexible and agile way and ensure that you will always end up with a beautiful project that fits within your timeframes AND budget.

To ensure everything runs smoothly we make sure that we cover a few bases early on in the website project.

  • Functional Requirements – identify what the website is going to deliver
  • Interface Specifications – describe how each of the site elements are going to work
  • Project Plan – keeping both ours and your tasks in plain view with accurate delivery dates

We like to use a combination of Google Docs, Basecamp, OmniFocus, and OmniPlan to keep everyone on the same page. We are alos happy to work with an existing project management tool you might have internally as long as it covers all the bases.

I prefer to run projects with an Auteur. This is a person with the overall website goal in their mind and the person that directs the other members of the project team. Everything goes through this person and they have the final say in what is in and out.
